Cairo is located on the banks and islands of the Nile River in the north of Egypt. West of Giza, in the desert, are three large pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Giza. The Sinai Peninsula lies between the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the south, forming a land bridge from Africa to Southwest Asia. Its area is about 60.000 km. The Sinai is a magical and biblical desert with as highlights Mount Sinai, where Moses got the ten commands and the Saint Catherine #39;s Monastery with the chapel of the burning bush.
