AGNES Water is attracting unprecedented national and international attention after the release of the new bestseller, 101 Best Australian Beaches, by Professor Andrew Short and Brad Farmer. <\/p>\n
Out of the 11,761 Aussie beaches visited by the authors, Agnes came in the top 101 that made it into the book - and was No.1 in Prof Short's personal top 10. <\/p>\n
Prof Short is known as the world's authority on beaches, after publishing numerous books, scientific journals andpapers on coastal geomorphology. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
He has documented first-hand every beach on the Australian coastline, travelling on foot, by boat, plane, helicopter and 4WD. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Brad Farmer, a third-generation surfer and founder of Ocean Care Day and the Surfrider Foundation, had Crescent Heads on the NSW north coast as his personal No.1 - but admitted Agnes Water was a bit of a favourite too. <\/p>\n
\"I'm a Queenslander. I couldn't have too many Queensland beaches in there - it would seem a bit biased.\" <\/p>\n
Mr Farmer said the book was selling well and he was initially surprised by the attention. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
