On this trip I visited some stunningly beautiful beaches and lively big cities ... but for me the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the 4-5 days spent in the far north of Thailand near the border crossing with Laos in the countryside outside Nong Khai, spending some  #39;quiet #39; time with my friend and her extended family in a small village.
