(Provided by Johanna    Davis)  <\/p>\n<p>    Indian Trails Middle School is preparing for an event that will    allow students to contact an astronaut aboard the International    Space Station via amateur radio.  <\/p>\n<p>    The event, scheduled for the week of Nov. 12, is being made    possible through Amateur Radio on the International Space    Station, NASA, international space agencies and worldwide    amateur radio groups that coordinate scheduled radio contacts    between astronauts aboard the space station and schools. The    10-minute live forum will bounce between students and    astronauts as the astronauts orbit 250 miles above Earth.  <\/p>\n<p>    The event also will include guest speakers from Embry-Riddle    Aeronautic University along with an array of space-replated    exhibits designed by students.  <\/p>\n<p>    More information is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/education\/tfs\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/education\/tfs<\/a>    and <a href=\"http:\/\/flaglerschools.com\/space\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/flaglerschools.com\/space<\/a>. Each session    will include reading a book, completing an activity and a    discussion period.  <\/p>\n<p>    Each volunteer can mentor up to three children.
