Deal is the first Congressman to take such a step.  Earlier last year, Rep. Bill Posey of Florida introduced legislation requiring future Presidents to produce birth certificates as proof of eligibility.  Deal and 6 other Republican Congressmen have signed on as co-sponsors.  <\/p><p>Deal is currently a candidate for the Republican nomination for Georgia Governor. He is often identified with the Tea Party movement, and is a relatively high scorer on pro-taxpayer and libertarian voting indexes.  (He's received 5 awards as a Taxpayer friend from <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ntu.org\/main\/post.php?post_id=4605\">NTU<\/a>).<\/p><p>Deal told the  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/rep-deal-wants-obama-188779.html\">AJC<\/a>:<\/p><blockquote><p>\"I have looked at the documentation [birth certificate] that is publicly available and it leaves many things to be desired.\"<\/p><\/blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_Zm6JXvXXze4\/S0i89eOh4jI\/AAAAAAAAJLg\/V_SuOXD7Nk8\/s1600-h\/ObamaBirthCertificate.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"padding-left:10px; padding-right: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-o-matic\/cache\/5b7ba_ObamaBirthCertificate.png\" border=\"0\"><\/a>Additionally, AJC columnist Jim Galloway reports:<\/p><blockquote><p>The White House on Thursday confirmed receipt of a letter from U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal that formally asks Barack Obama to address questions about his place of birth &ndash; and thus, whether he is qualified to be president.<\/p><p>The letter arrived Dec. 10.
