I understand that 12 or 24 VDC alternators actually put out AC  prior to the rectifiers.<\/p>\n<p>  1.  Is it single phase or 3 phase or what?<\/p>\n<p>  2.   Will they develop 120 VAC at some given RPM?<\/p>\n<p>  3.
