A NASA-sponsored astronomy program for 9-14 year-olds will be held this summer at the Nahant Public Library and at East Point Solar Observatory. <\/p>\n
The program will begin the week of Monday, July 9, and run for six weeks, through the week of Monday, August 13. Two approximately 1 1 hour sessions will be offered each week; one for each of two age groups. The exact dates and times will be decided after registration. <\/p>\n
The program will feature several lessons and hands-on projects covering the Earth, Solar System, the Milky Way, and other galaxies. <\/p>\n
The activities will be supervised by Mary Ann Szatkowski, science teacher at the Swampscott Middle School, assisted by high-school aged student aides. Program staff also includes Dr. Luke Conlin of Tufts University. The program is free to Nahant and Swampscott residents. <\/p>\n
