STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Heavy rain will hit Staten Island all day Saturday as the first Noreaster of the season is passing through the East Coast.<\/p>\n
Precipitation will be heavy until the early afternoon with flooding possible in the borough, according to AccuWeather.com.<\/p>\n
One ramp in the vicinity of the Staten Island Expressway and Mosel Avenue in Grasmere was closed earlier Saturday morning due to flooding, according to emergency radio transmissions.<\/p>\n
The temperature is expected to reach a high of 49 degrees with wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour, which will make it feel more like temperatures in the 30s, forecasts indicate.<\/p>\n
The Noreaster will bring heavy snow in the New England area.<\/p>\n
As the Noreaster passes by, just under seven million people are under winder storm warnings, the National Weather Service said.<\/p>\n
There currently are no advisories or warnings issued for Staten Island.<\/p>\n
