Ernst and Young LLP on Aug. 17 announced the finalists for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 Mid-Atlantic award.<\/p>\n
The award is one of the most competitive business awards for entrepreneurs and company leaders. It has celebrated entrepreneurs from Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia for 34 years, honoring business leaders who deliver innovation, growth and prosperity through their companies.<\/p>\n
Award winners will be announced during a virtual event in October. This year, entrepreneurs who have supported their communities, employees and others during the COVID-19 pandemic will also be recognized.<\/p>\n

Finalists were evaluated using six criteria including overcoming adversity, financial performance, societal impact and commitment to building a value-based company, innovation and talent management. They were selected by a panel of independent judges.<\/p>\n
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year National Awards, which will be held virtually in November. The national award winner will move on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year award in June 2021.<\/p>\n
