SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (KVEO) The city of South Padre Island has extended the emergency order regarding beachgoers amid COVID-19. <\/p>\n
The order sets guidelines for beach vendors and visitors in order to keep beaches open and prevent further spread of the virus. <\/p>\n
Below are the guidelines as stated in the release:<\/p>\n

BEACH GOERS<\/p>\n
The emergency order will now be in effect until Sept. 16, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.<\/p>\n
The city adds Peace Officers, City of South Padre Island Health Inspectors, Code Enforcement\/Ordinance Officers\/Inspectorsare authorized to enforce the order. A violation is a Class C Misdemeanor punishable by an up to $500 fine. <\/p>\n
