The West Virginia Department of Health andHuman Resources (DHHR) reports as of 10:00 a.m., on August 2,2020, there have been 291,071 total confirmatorylaboratory results received for COVID-19, with 6,854 totalcases and 117 deaths. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
DHHR has confirmed the death of a79-year old male from Kanawha County. Wejoin with the family in grieving the passing of this gentleman, said Bill J.Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.<\/p>\n
In alignment with updated definitions fromthe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the dashboard includes probablecases which are individuals that have symptoms and either serologic (antibody)or epidemiologic (e.g., a link to a confirmed case) evidence of disease, but noconfirmatory test. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
