TheWest Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of 10:00 a.m., on July 28,2020, there have been 268,039 totalconfirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 6,119 totalcases and 108 deaths. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
DHHR has confirmed the deaths of an 87-yearold female from Wood County and a 47-year old female from Berkeley County. Wejoin with these families as they grieve the loss of their loved ones, saidBill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.<\/p>\n
In alignment with updated definitions fromthe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the dashboard includes probablecases which are individuals that have symptoms and either serologic (antibody)or epidemiologic (e.g., a link to a confirmed case) evidence of disease, but noconfirmatory test. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As case surveillance continues at thelocal health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certaincounty may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individualin question may have crossed the state border to be tested.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
