The 30,000 person study will test whether two 100 g doses of their mRNA vaccine can prevent people from becoming symptomatic with Covid-19. The launch marks the beginning of a second stage in the hunt for a coronavirus vaccine, as the most well-backed and advanced efforts having been tested for safety and immunogenicity in small groups of volunteers move into studies that will determine whether they can actually prevent Covid-19 and be available in the fall or winter to stem the pandemic.<\/p>\n
