My immediate reflex was to be skeptical of this, at least going by Will Provine&rsquo;s treatment in <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0226684644\/geneexpressio-20\">The Origins of Theoretical Population Genetics<\/a>, which seemed to push back the timing to the 1920s.<\/p><p>So I looked up &ldquo;population genetics&rdquo; in Ngram viewer.<\/p><p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-o-matic\/cache\/31c40_popgen.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14080\" src=\"http:\/\/euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-o-matic\/cache\/31c40_popgen.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"273\" style=\"padding-left:10px; padding-right: 10px;\"><\/a><\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>&nbsp;<br>These results are not consistent with my expectations. Looks like my intuition was wrong. At least for the term population genetics.
