TheWest Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of 10:00 a.m., on July 17,2020, there have been 219,947 total confirmatory laboratory results receivedfor COVID-19, with 4,710 total cases and 100 deaths. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
DHHR has confirmed the death of an 84-yearold male from Cabell County. We are deeply saddened by this news, a loss toboth the family and our state, said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.<\/p>\n
In alignment with updated definitions fromthe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the dashboard includes probablecases which are individuals that have symptoms and either serologic (antibody)or epidemiologic (e.g., a link to a confirmed case) evidence of disease, but noconfirmatory test. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As case surveillance continues at thelocal health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certaincounty may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individualin question may have crossed the state border to be tested.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
