Thursday 19th May comments<\/strong>: The crazy period is just around the corner and Farnes action continues as chicks have started hatching and the Arctic Terns have intensified attacks against our visitors (and the wardens!). In recent days we've witnessed...<\/div>

first Guillemot chicks <\/strong>hatch on Staple and Inner Farme<\/p>

Puffin chicks <\/strong>found today on Inner Farne<\/p>

Black-headed Gull chicks <\/strong>discovered in the main colony<\/p>

On the migration front it was a stunning day yesterday (Wednesday) as the peace and quiet of the islands was shattered by an adult HONEY BUZZARD<\/strong> over (it flew over our heads!) before heading towards the mainland (only the 9th Farnes record although all have occurred since the first on 25 September 2000). <\/p>

Recent highlights<\/strong>: HONEY BUZZARD, Little Gull first-summer, Roseate Tern 3 adults in summer plumage and Mediterranean Gull (second summer).<\/p>
