A highlight of the UK offshore industrys social calendar has been postponed due to fears about the coronavirus spread.<\/p>\n
The Offshore Achievement Awards were scheduled to take place at P&J Live in Aberdeen on March 19.<\/p>\n
But the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section, which organises and hosts the OAAs, has decided to reschedule the ceremony for September 10.<\/p>\n
The organisation said: Following a series of discussions in recent days, we regret to inform you that organisers have made the decision to postpone this years Offshore Achievement Awards due to the coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n
We have taken this decision based on closely monitoring advice from government, NHS Scotland and the World Health Organisation (WHO).<\/p>\n
The ceremony was an evening we were all looking forward to, however we must ensure health and safety is our number one priority.<\/p>\n
All table bookings will remain valid for the rescheduled ceremony on September 10th 2020.<\/p>\n
We thank you for your understanding and are looking forward to seeing you all in September.<\/p>\n
