They say that while the surface temperature of Barnard&rsquo;s Star b&nbsp;&mdash; the second-closest known exoplanet to Earth&nbsp;&mdash; is likely&nbsp; around -170 degrees Celsius (-274 degrees Fahrenheit), it could still <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.villanova.edu\/villanova\/media\/pressreleases\/2019\/0110.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">host&nbsp;primitive life<\/a>&nbsp;&mdash; as long at it has the right kind of core.<\/p><h2>Life Zones<\/h2><p>The scientists presented their <a href=\"http:\/\/clusty.ast.villanova.edu\/gallery\/Barnard_Poster_AAS2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research<\/a> during a press conference on Thursday at a&nbsp;meeting of the American Astronomy Society (AAS).
