Most of the usual topics in aging were covered, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fightaging.org\/archives\/2001\/11\/calorie-restriction-explained.php\">dietary restriction<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fightaging.org\/archives\/2008\/02\/inflammation-and-the-damage-of-aging.php\">inflammation<\/a>, stress resistance, homeostasis and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Proteasome\">proteasome<\/a> activity, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sarcopenia\">sarcopenia<\/a>, and neural degeneration. Newer methods like <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MicroRNA\">microRNAs<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Full_genome_sequencing\">genome sequencing<\/a> were employed to investigate <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gene_expression\">gene expression<\/a> variance with aging and genetic signatures of longevity. Aging as a field continues to mature including by using a systems approach to tracing conserved pathways across organisms, sharpening definitions of sarcopenia, frailty, and healthspan, and distinguishing interventions by age tier (early-onset versus late-onset).
