A DNA test has proved with 99 percent certainty that the man claiming to be the father of a child kidnapped eight years ago is the biological father. <\/p>\n
The test results were revealed in court on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
Miguel Morin, 8, was kidnapped in November 2004. He was 8 months old when he disappeared. <\/p>\n
Miguel was found earlier this month after a woman turned in her sister, Krystle Rochelle Tanner. Tanner has been charged with felony kidnapping. <\/p>\n
Fernando Morin has been proven to be Miguel's father, it has not been determined who Miguel's mother is. Auboni Champion-Morin has submitted her DNA for testing and results were expected to be returned on Thursday. <\/p>\n
Champion-Morin said she left her son with Tanner, a friend whom she considered the child's godmother. When she went to pick up Miguel the next day, both Tanner and the child were gone. <\/p>\n
According to Children's Protective Services workers, Miguel was given a new name and a new birth date and, when shown a picture of Tanner, he identified her as his mother. Officials said he thinks he is 6 years old. <\/p>\n
A psychologist said Miguel is frightened, shy and behind emotionally and psychologically. He does not attend school, officials said. <\/p>\n
\"The child doesn't really know what's going on,\" Morin said. \"He's been lied to his whole life.\" <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
