His research focuses on using high-throughput  #39;omics #39; technologies (such as next-generation sequencing) coupled with novel computational algorithms to study infectious and inflammatory diseases (such as Cystic Fibrosis), at a systems level. Dr. Xia completed his MSc (2006) and PhD (2011) degrees at the University of Alberta.
