Laurence Manning Academy students Madi Lew, McKenzie Truett and Lauren Rembert brought home a third place award in the senior interdisciplinary team division at the 2017 South Carolina Independent School Association State Science Fair. These students are to be congratulated for their practical applications of the scientific method, said SCISA Executive Director Larry Watt. The caliber of the entries indicates the amount of work all of the students put into their projects. The SCISA State Science Fair had three divisions including the elementary for third through fifth grades; junior for sixth through eighth; and senior for ninth through 12th. Each division featured eight categories, including general science, biological science, physical science, environmental science, team project, behavioral science, computer and math, and intervention and engineering. Judging criteria included technical correctness, aesthetic quality, theory, feasibility, effort and scientific methods. About 189 projects were judged at the state science fair. <\/p>\n
