If features sideshow acts, lectures, performances, and a 2-day scholarly-yet-popular symposium called The Congress<span> <\/span><span>for<\/span> Curious Peoples, which is produced by The Morbid Anatomy Library in tandem with The Coney Island Museum.<\/p><p>This year's Congress<span> <\/span><span>for<\/span> Curious Peoples symposium will feature panel discussions on such  topics as pre-cinematic immersive amusements and religion as spectacle, while some of the featured speakers will be Sara Velas of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.panoramaonview.org\/\">The Velaslavasay Panorama;<\/a> Paul Koudounaris of <a href=\"http:\/\/astore.amazon.com\/morbanat-20\/detail\/0500251789\">Empire of Death;<\/a> an as-of-yet unnamed representative of the amazing <a href=\"http:\/\/sleepnomorenyc.com\/\">Sleep No More<\/a>; and Colin Dickey, author of <a href=\"http:\/\/astore.amazon.com\/morbanat-20\/detail\/1609530101\"><span>Cranioklepty<\/span><\/a>. Also featured will be stand-alone lectures on <a href=\"http:\/\/morbidanatomy.blogspot.com\/2010\/01\/announcing-new-virtual-museum-dedicated.html\">the 17th century artist of fetal skeleton tableaux Frederik Ruysch<\/a> and the phenomenon of ethnographic displays called \"<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Human_zoo\">human zoos<\/a>,\" a screening of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=H12K2S1G5JQ\">an over-the-top early 1970s TV Evangelist Christmas spectacular<\/a>, and introductory lectures by myself and Coney Island Museum director <a href=\"http:\/\/aaronbeebe.net\/\">Aaron Beebe<\/a>.<\/p><p>Full lineup below;
