GUILFORD COUNTY -North Carolina is the fourth most attractive state in the country for aerospace manufacturing, according to a new report from PriceWaterHouse Cooper. <\/p>\n
The recent report measures a host of factors including labor force, roads, economy and more. <\/p>\n
The report shows the state had the fifth-best economy metrics, the sixth best industry metrics and an above-average tax policy. <\/p>\n
It also has the lowest corporate income tax rate in the U.S. <\/p>\n
The state's ranking was particularly significant for the Triad area, which is home to hundreds of aviation workers and a number of aerospace companies like HondaJet and HAECO. <\/p>\n
Guilford County Schools Aviation Director, David Mayers,said it's important to have a trained workforce ready to enter the growing industry. <\/p>\n
\"We are starting them within the eighth grade to give them an idea of what they are going to have in high school, so when they do come into the high school, we've got four years, and it's not just a couple of classes that we offer for aviation. What we have is a cohort program, said Mayers. <\/p>\n
GCS has five aviation middle schools. <\/p>\n
