A new summer camp for elementary students interested in robotics began this week at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. <\/p>\n
Students attending the camp will learn hardware design, programming, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills. <\/p>\n
In addition to students, elementary teachers who are interested in starting robotics programs at their schools are encouraged to attend. <\/p>\n
Sandra Lieterman, a math specialist at the university and robotics coach, says the camp is a great way to introduce robotics to students who may not have the opportunity at their schools. <\/p>\n
\"They can take that into the computer science courses that are required for middle school and high school right now and, hopefully, into a STEM field in college,\" Lieterman said. \"They're learning life-long skills in here.\" <\/p>\n
The camp runs through Friday, August 4. <\/p>\n
