More than 200 ponies swam from Assateague Island to neighboring Chincoteague Island in the 92nd Annual Chincoteague Pony Swim event on Virginia's eastern shore on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n
The distance covered was under 1,000 yards, and the foals were sold at an auction the following day. <\/p>\n
The Chincoteague Ponies are small horses that live in the wild on Assateague Island and are considered docile and resilient. <\/p>\n
