But a stretch of nearly two quarters without converting a field goal doomed the Comets. Neah Bay resorted to slapping, grabbing and shoving at both ends of the court, and seemed to frazzle Naselle, who were regularly fouled each time down the court but rarely received the call. From around the six-minute mark in the first quarter until halfway through the third, the Comets only points came on free throws. The Red Devils outscored the Comets 30-13 in the second and third quarters.

Hailey Weston ended the drought with a bucket at 3:37 in the third quarter, followed shortly by a breakaway lay up by Taylor Gudmundsen, who led the Comets with 9 points, followed by Ellie Chapman and Lilli Zimmerman with 7 each. The Comets won the fourth quarter, 18-14.

The Comets finished the season 16-7, and went 12-0 in Coastal League play, where they were the league champs, and placed second at district.

Stay on topic - This helps keep the thread focused on the discussion at hand.
