William Paul Young, best known as the author of The Shack, will discuss the difference between being spiritual and being religious in a filmed interview at Lifetree Cafat 7 p.m. CT on Monday, Feb. 20. <\/p>\n
Nearly 30 percent of Americans identify themselves as spiritual but not religious, and the trend is growing. Youngs best-seller has prompted a national discussion of the difference between spirituality and religion. <\/p>\n
I make a distinction between the church as an organization and the church as people, says Young. Biblically speaking, the church is people. Its only people. They didnt have the buildings, the structures, or platforms. Its simply people. <\/p>\n
The Lifetree event, titled Spiritual but Not Religious, offers participants the opportunity to explore the issue in a safe, open environment. <\/p>\n
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available. Lifetree Caf is located at 1602 U.S. Highway 98 in Mexico Beach across from El Governor Motel. <\/p>\n
