Pentobarbital, a barbituate, was detected in 12-ounce cans of Hunk of Beef that were distributed and sold online in Wisconsin, Washington, California, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, according to an announcement from Evangers posted on the FDA website. <\/p>\n
One dog died and four dogs became ill after consuming the product with lot number 1816E06HB13, according to the announcement. <\/p>\n
The recalled products were manufactured the week of June 6 through June 13 and have lot numbers that start with 1816E03HB, 1816E04HB, 1816E06HB, 1816E07HB and 1816E13HB, and have an expiration date of June 2020, according to the post. <\/p>\n
The second half of the bar code, which can be found on the back of the product label, reads 20109, according to the company. <\/p>\n
