It’s riddle time!  Are you alert and ready for this?  You are getting pretty clever out there.  I have people who have already solved riddles emailing me with the answer, sometimes within a minute or two of my publishing the riddle.  Have you been doing your homework?  I can’t wait until the bonus riddle.  Tom and I are going to rock your world!<\/p>

Okay, get those neurons excited and ready to fire.  Here’s your Saturday riddle:

Today’s riddle answer is an object, but it was an event, also.<\/p>

It caused quite an uproar in its time.<\/p>

It wasn’t a “first”, and certainly not a “last”, but it was very important.

What we see now is not what it was.<\/p>

It’s not modern, but it’s not ancient, either.<\/p>

Something of a mystery in its own time, it was solved in the early 1940’s.<\/p>

It has been called a “cornerstone” in astronomical history.

It’s named for someone who did not actually discover it.<\/p>

This was studied recently using a new technique, pioneered to be able to watch a “rerun” of this event.<\/p>

You can call it an event; you can call it an object.  You’re accurate to say what it is now, or what it was.

How’s that for a riddle?  I bet you can figure it out; after all, you’ve heard about it all your lives.  No, really.  It’s very familiar.<\/p>
