LEONI TWP., MI - A visit from an author who took them to places around the world, and dropping everything to curl up with a good book were among the festivities enjoyed by East Jackson students during March is Reading Month. <\/p>\n
Students at Memorial and Bertha Robinson elementary schools spent the month enjoying a variety of activities. <\/p>\n
Jackson veterinarian Jason Galicki brought his therapy dog Delilah to Memorial Elementary School for a day of reading. Students read to Delilah and learned about dogs and being a veterinarian. <\/p>\n
Joel Tacey, Michigan's Family Funnyman, also took Memorial students on a \"trip around the world,\" introducing them to zany characters. <\/p>\n
At Bertha Robinson Elementary School, Principal Heather Jacobs surprised students and staff with DEAR - Drop Everything and Read - times. When this happened, everyone stopped what they were doing and found a comfortable spot to read a book. <\/p>\n
Jackson author D.L. Price also visited the school, as did East Jackson High School students, who dropped in to read to students. <\/p>\n
Bertha Robinson Elementary classes also decorated their room doors to celebrate the month. <\/p>\n
