Libertys Lady Panthers were on fire at Tarkington Friday evening, March 27. They beat the LadyHorns, 16-0, in five innings that included five home runs. <\/p>\n
The scoring started quick. Catcher Jewel Moody hit a line drive to center for a single, then Kaitlyn Slack hit the first of her three home runs in the game. <\/p>\n
Next up, Kurstin Martin doubled on a grounder to left field and went to third on Andee Geters line-drive single to right. Katie Harris got a walk. Then Martin scored on a passed ball. Macy Tanton connected, and the outfield error that let her reach first also let both Geter and Harris make it home to put Liberty up, 5-0, in the first inning. <\/p>\n
After Tarkingtons fly out, strike out, and ground out, Liberty was back up to bat for a walk, another Moody single, and a second Slack home run, putting the score at 8-0. <\/p>\n
Megan Hogan got a single for Tarkington in the bottom of the second with a line drive to left field, but then she was caught with Hillary Jackson in a double playSlack to Parker to Martin. <\/p>\n
In the top of the third, Tanton singled, hitting a liner to left field. Madisyn Frazier got on base with a bunt that advanced Tantons courtesy runner, Lacey Vaughn, to second, but Vaughn was put out at third on a fielders choice that let Kamryn Parker reach first. <\/p>\n
After third baseman Lauren Henson caught Moodys popup for the second out, Slack homered again to bring in Frazier and Parker. <\/p>\n
Then Martin hit a solo homer to make the score 12-0. <\/p>\n
Tarkingtons MacKenzie Tyler doubled in the bottom of the fourth on a line drive to left field. <\/p>\n
In the fifth, Slack was walked to first. Shauna Harrell put Martin out, catching her fly ball to right field. Then Geter hit a fly to left for a single, and Katie Harris lined one over the centerfield fence for Libertys fifth home run of the game. <\/p>\n
