My lawnmower with a B&amp;S 18.5 hp single cylinder Intek engine burns oil intermittently. What confuses me is that it will run without burning oil for 30-60 minutes and then suddenly start spewing THICK smoke. It will take the oil from full to add (8 ounces) in about 10 minutes.
