Health care stocks were sharply lower in late trade with the NYSE Health Care Sector Index dropping about 1.7% and shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 down almost 1.9% as a group. <\/p>\n
In company news, BioLineRx Ltd. ( BLRX ) retreated Friday after the early-stage biotech company today priced a $25 million public offering of 12.5 million American depository shares at $2 apiece, a nearly 29% discount to Thursday's closing price for the stock. <\/p>\n
Each ADS is equal to 10 ordinary BLRX shares. The company plans to use net proceeds to fund clinical trials of its BL-8040 drug candidate to treat cute myeloid leukemia and for it BL-7010 experimental treatment for celiac disease. <\/p>\n
BLRX shares were down more than 27% in late afternoon trading at $2.05 apiece, just a penny above their session low. The stock has traded within a 52-week range of $1.20 to $3.28 apiece, rising nearly 11% over the past year prior to today's decline. <\/p>\n
