SINGAPORE:More parents have been taking their children to visit Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinics in recent years. <\/p>\n
TCM firm Eu Yan Sang saw a 40 per cent increase in children visiting its Singapore clinics in the past four years.<\/p>\n
To meet this demand, the group recently opened its eighth child-friendly clinic in Simei. It has play areas to keep the kids entertained, complete with toys which are sanitised daily.<\/p>\n
Eu Yan Sang said the physicians in these particular clinics have more clinical experience in treating children up to 12 years old. That means they are more well-equipped to give out the appropriate dosage of medicine, or to apply the right strength in traditional massages and acupuncture.<\/p>\n
The group has a total of 28 clinics under its belt. Caryn Peh, managing director of clinic services at Eu Yan Sang Integrative Health, said: Patients are more well-informed and they are looking for co-management of their conditions for better patient outcomes.<\/p>\n
\"So while they continue with a Western medical approach, they also look for TCM as an alternative or a complementary to their medical needs.\" <\/p>\n
