Announced Friday, the findings by NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York were based on a global analysis using readings from weather stations around the world. The scientists found that the average global temperate has increased by 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since the first available temperature records in 1880. <\/p>\n
\"That might not seem very much, but in terms of climate change, it's actually a big deal,\" said Dr. Gavin Schmidt, the director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. <\/p>\n
