(Nov. 24, 2014) - Five faculty members from    the University of South Florida in Tampa have been named    Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of    Science (AAAS). Election as an AAAS Fellow is an honor bestowed    upon AAAS members by their peers.  <\/p>\n<p>    This year, 401 members from 196 universities and organizations    have been awarded this honor by AAAS because of their    scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance    science or its applications.  <\/p>\n<p>    New Fellows will be presented with an official certificate and    a gold and blue (representing science and engineering,    respectively) rosette pin on Feb. 14, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. to    10:00 a.m. at the AAAS Fellows Forum during the 2015 AAAS    Annual Meeting in San Jose, Cal.  <\/p>\n<p>    Top ranked organizations  <\/p>\n<p>    With five Fellows, USF is ranked 4th worldwide for    organizations with the most AAAS Fellows named this year, tied    with Boston University, Duke University, Johns Hopkins    University, University of California, Los Angeles, University    of Chicago, University of Florida, University of Illinois at    Urbana-Champaign, University of Tennessee Knoxville and    University of Texas at Austin.  <\/p>\n<p>    Other top ranked organizations include Vanderbilt University in    first place with 11 Fellows; Emory University, University of    Michigan, Pennsylvania State University and University of Texas    MD Anderson Cancer Center, all tied for second place with eight    Fellows each. Tied for third place with six Fellows each are    the University of California, Davis, The Ohio State University,    Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Cornell University,    University of Maryland and University of North Carolina Chapel    Hill.  <\/p>\n<p>    \"The University of South Florida is proud of these outstanding    faculty members,\" said Dr. Paul R.
