ACT Comets spinner Shane Devoy couldn't pass up the opportunity to play in the Sydney grade competition to put himself in front of NSW state selectors. <\/p>\n
Tuggeranong will be without Devoy for the rest of the summer after his move to Easts under the guidance of Canberra product and former Australian batsman Michael Bevan. <\/p>\n
The 25-year-old has been one of the leading slow bowlers in the Canberra first-grade competition for the past few seasons. <\/p>\n
Devoy took nine wickets in an innings in a Futures League game against South Australia last year, leading to his selection as 12th man for the Prime Minister's XI. <\/p>\n

\"The advice I got was if you want to have a chance for higher honours, then you've got a better chance of showing your wares up in Sydney with the deeper talent pool,\" Devoy said. <\/p>\n
\"If you have a couple of good games against contracted players, that probably holds you in good stead. <\/p>\n
\"Whereas if you do it down here, it's pretty much expected.\" <\/p>\n
Devoy will still be eligible to play for the Comets for the rest of the season as part of the memorandum of understanding between Cricket ACT and Cricket NSW. <\/p>\n
