The MUCC Comets football team took an early lead over the LP Miller Bears by returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown on October 3 in Melfort. <\/p>\n
The Bears gave up a safety on their first possession and Melfort quickly added another touchdown. After the Bears went two and out the Comets scored again and led 23-0 just four minutes into the game. <\/p>\n
After the Comets scored again some younger players started logging time on the field. <\/p>\n
The score was 44-0 at halftime. <\/p>\n
The Bears scored their first points of the game at the very end of the third quarter. The conversion missed leaving them trailing 47-6. <\/p>\n
They added another touchdown late in the fourth quarter. This time the two-point conversion was good, cutting Melforts lead to 47-14. <\/p>\n
With only 23 seconds remaining in the game the Bears scored again. <\/p>\n
This time the two-point conversion missed and the game ended at 47-20. <\/p>\n
The Comets have a bye next week but are preparing for a rematch with the Humboldt Mohawks in Melfort on October 17. <\/p>\n
