World premiere of entertainment series to showcase New Zealand to millions <\/p>\n
19 May, 2014: New Zealand will be showcased to an international audience of millions following the world premiere of Travel Channels exciting new entertainment series, RV Rampage, on Thursday 22 May. <\/p>\n
The ten part series was filmed in 10 locations around the country last year Auckland; Rotorua; Taupo; Taihape; Wellington; Marlborough & Abel Tasman; Greymouth & Charleston; Franz Josef & Fox Glacier; Wanaka and Queenstown. As Travel Channel is available in 130 countries across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, it will take New Zealand into the homes of potentially two hundred million viewers around the globe. <\/p>\n
The series is hosted by Henry Cole, seasoned Travel Channel host and presenter of Worlds Greatest Motorcycle Rides, and hugely popular presenter and broadcaster Amanda Byram of Total Wipeout, The Swan and Big Breakfast fame. <\/p>\n
In the show, the presenters host five international teams of two who battle it out against a backdrop of stunning scenery and coastline to be crowned the ultimate adventurer. The teams journey in RVs with the five pairs sharing three RVs for the duration of the trip. Pushed to their very limits, the teams undertake challenges designed to immerse them in the culture and lifestyle of NZ and rampage challenges to test them mentally and physically. <\/p>\n
Tourism New Zealand provided valuable assistance to RV Rampage producers, supported by 10 different Regional Tourism Organisations and the Holiday Parks Association of New Zealand. Justin Watson, Tourism New Zealands Director of Trade, PR and Major Events commented, \"New Zealand caters for every kind of visitor whether they are looking for adventure sports or a winery tour. This series will showcase the diversity and provide global exposure which is a real coup. <\/p>\n
New Zealand motorhome company, maui, is a key sponsor of the series. Kate Meldrum, General Manager Marketing & Customer Experience for maui said, \"We were delighted to be involved with the series. The programme really tells the story that visitors to New Zealand will get the most out of their holiday through travelling by campervan. And of course, Travel Channel reaches a vast international audience. <\/p>\n
RV Rampage premieres in New Zealand on Thursday 22 May at 7.30pm on Travel Channel (SKY025). <\/p>\n
