Coty went seven innings and didnt allow an earned run while giving up four hits, five walks and striking out five. <\/p>\n
Grace Staley had two hits and a run batted in while Laken Berthume also added two hits with a double and two RBIs. Chelsea Gordon also had two hits with a RBI. <\/p>\n
(Coty) suffered a torn ACL last year and put in a ton of work in the offseason, said Coleman coach Chad Klopf. We had great defense; that was big. <\/p>\n
Liphard didnt allow a single baserunner while striking out five in a five-inning mercy. <\/p>\n
Staley added another two hits and two more RBIs in the game as did Gordon. Berthume had three hits as did Cassidy Tucker, who added two RBIs while Tasha Fox had two singles and a RBI. <\/p>\n
(Our batters) were very aggressive as I expected, Klopf said. We took a trip to Tennessee and got some live hitting, but we havent got a lot of live batting in this season. <\/p>\n
The 2-0 Comets continue play today when they welcome Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary. <\/p>\n
