It's the American Heart Association's effort to raise awareness of heart disease as the #1 killer of women. <\/p>\n
Many Central New York businesses urge their staffers to be involved (including CNY Central, where you'll see a lot of red in our broadcasts on Friday). <\/p>\n
Many Syracuse buildings will also be illuminated in red, to raise awareness. <\/p>\n
Kathryn Ruscitto, who heads up St. Joseph's Hospital, and also heads up the local effort for American Heart, says you can also start prevention by knowing your numbers: cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI (Body Mass Index) and doing something about those numbers.
