Long-running medical drama Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for a 21st season. <\/p>\n
It was confirmed to US publication Variety that Disney-owned broadcast network ABC would continue making the show, after a strike affected its 20th season, with only ten episodes completed. <\/p>\n
Speaking to Variety, Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes said: \"The loyalty and love of Grey's Anatomy fans has propelled us into a historic 21st season, and I could not be more grateful.\" <\/p>\n
The Bridgerton creator handed the showrunner reins to Meg Marinis at the end of season 19 and commended her storytelling ability, saying, \"Meg Marinis' storytelling is a gift that continues to keep the show vibrant, compelling and alive, and I cant wait to see what she has in store for next season.\" <\/p>\n
The cast of Grey's Anatomy includes Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone and Camilla Luddington. Numerous past cast members have also appeared in guest roles in recent seasons. <\/p>\n
Greys Anatomy is the longest-running medical drama in TV history after surpassing ER in 2019. <\/p>\n
Season 20 of Grey's Anatomy kicks off tonight on RT2 and RT Player at 9.35pm. <\/p>\n
