Driftwood Heart 01<\/em> pyrography, natural pigment and pastel on wood 8” x 15”<\/p> Onion Heart<\/em> pyrography, natural pigment and pastel 6” x 24”<\/p> Originally from St. Martin, Fay Helfer<\/a> received her MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). She uses a technique in her work called pyrography, which means “writing with fire,” a method of decorating wood with a controlled application of a heated point.
