Some fraction of degenerative aging is caused by an accumulation of various forms of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amylo\">amyloids<\/a> between cells, probably the best known of which is that involved in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alzheimer's_disease\">Alzheimer&#8217;s disease<\/a>.
