\n announced that Dr. Tom Matula has accepted the position
\n of Chairman of the Scientific Board for Planda\u00ed Biotechnology,
\n Inc., effective immediately.\n <\/p>\n
\n Dr. Matula is a world-renowned scientist and entrepreneur with
\n expertise in medical and industrial applications of ultrasound.
\n He is the author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications and has
\n several patents in the medical devices landscape. Dr. Matula is
\n a past winner of the Department of Defense Young Scientist
\n Award and was also awarded the Presidential Early Career Award,
\n the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on
\n science and engineering professionals in the early stages of
\n their careers. He has advised members of congress on energy
\n issues, and helps organize panels on technology transfer out of
\n universities.\n <\/p>\n
\n Dr. Matula received his PhD. in Physics from Washington State
\n University. He currently serves as Affiliate Associate
\n Professor, Bioengineering and Electrical Engineering with the
\n University of
\n Washington, is the Director of the Center for Industrial
\n and Medical Ultrasound and the Director of the Center for
\n Ultrasound-based Molecular Imaging and Therapy, both with the
\n University of Washington. Dr. Matula also serves as Principal
\n Physicist with the Applied Physics Laboratory at the University
\n of Washington.\n <\/p>\n
\n Dr. Matula is a co-inventor of Planda\u00ed Biotechnology's proprietary
