{"id":1031978,"date":"2012-08-12T15:43:59","date_gmt":"2012-08-12T15:43:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.immortalitymedicine.tv\/integrative-medicine\/everyone-at-risk-from-mad-cow-disease.php"},"modified":"2024-08-17T15:12:17","modified_gmt":"2024-08-17T19:12:17","slug":"everyone-at-risk-from-mad-cow-disease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/integrative-medicine\/everyone-at-risk-from-mad-cow-disease.php","title":{"rendered":"Everyone At Risk From Mad Cow Disease"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>By John von Radowitz, Science Correspondent, PA News <\/span><\/p><p><span>No one is immune to the human form of mad cow disease, variant CJD, new research suggests today. <\/span><\/p><p><span>Some people whose genetic make-up normally acts as a barrier against infection may ultimately develop a different and so-far unrecognised type of disease, it is claimed. <\/span><\/p><p><span>Scientists have shown that individuals with a pair of genes known as MM about a third of the population acquire vCJD relatively easily. <\/span><\/p><p><span>No one with a different paring, VV, has been known to suffer the disease. <\/span><\/p><p><span>Then in August it emerged that a patient from a mixed MV genetic group had been infected with vCJD from contaminated blood, without showing any symptoms.
