Pelicans’ Zion Williamson arrives at Disney rocking the Air Jordan 9s – The Rookie Wire

On Wednesday, the New Orleans Pelicans were among the eight teams to travel to the NBA season restart at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.

Upon arrival, players must immediately self isolate and submit two negative coronavirus tests at least 24 hours apart before they can begin practicing. Six of the 22 teams set to restart the season arrived on Tuesday while the remaining eight will travel to Disney on Thursday.

No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson was photographed stepping off of the Pelicans team bus wearing a Duke hoodie and the Air Jordan 9s in the Racer Blue colorway, which dropped in January.

Williamson is reportedly set to unveil a new exclusive Air Jordan 34 colorway during the restart. The shoe will be his second exclusive to debut this season and it was designed with the help of his younger brother, Noah.

The Pelicans will be able to take part in their first team practice on Friday. Previously, players were allowed to train in small groups at team facilities and were prohibited from taking part in 5-on-5 practices or drills. Teams will now begin a mini-camp ahead of the season restart.

The Pelicans will kick off the season restart July 30 vs. the Utah Jazz.
