Will Becky Lynch & Cris Cyborg Have a Match at WWE SummerSlam? – Heavy.com

Will Becky Lynch fight Cris Cyborg?

Over the past few weeks,Becky Lynch and UFCs Cris Cyborghave been teasing a possibleSummerSlammatch.

Cris Cyborg, whose real name isCristiane Justino, is the currentUFC Womens Featherweight Champion, having won the title atUFC 214 this past weekend. She and Becky Lynch have been feuding on Twitter going back to July 14th, when Cyborg challenged Lynch to a match atSummerSlam.

At the time, Lynch accepted, writing that she never backs down from a challenge.

Then, ahead of her big match at UFC 214, Cyborg tweeted at Becky Lynch that they should make a deal in which they agree to sign aSummerSlammatch contract if she wins the Womens Featherweight Championship.

Lynch issued a video response accepting the challenge, also telling Cyborg that she would be watching the match closely.

After winning her match, Cyborg actually tweeted at Triple H demanding that he book theSummerSlammatch with Lynch.

Cyborg has been tweeting about this Becky Lynch match quite often over the past few days. On Monday and Tuesday, she either tweeted about Becky Lynch or retweeted content about Becky Lynch a total of 10 times.

The WWE is actively promoting this Twitter feud, posting an article about Cyborgs challenge last month and putting up a video on its YouTube channel this afternoon talking about Lynch and Cyborgs pact to battle atSummerSlam.

Could we be heading for a dream match at SummerSlam2017 in Brooklyn? WWEs Cathy Kelleyasked in the video.

So could this match actually happen? It certainly seems like a possibility, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently stated that the WWE is definitely involved in building this feud in some capacity.

The company is pushing some sort of a tease of Cris Cyborg with Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. Its clearly something worked out between the two of them, which the company is involved with.

Meltzer has also pointed out that UFC owes WWE one, as WWE did allow Brock Lesnar to have his fight againstMark Hunt even while he was under a WWE contract.

It remains to be seen if this Lynch vs. Cyborg match will actually work out and whether World Wrestling Entertainment will have a place for it on the card. At the moment, fiveSummerSlammatches have been announced, and in recent years,SummerSlamhas had anywhere between nine and 12 matches, including several on the kickoff show.

If the WWE were planning to do something with this Cyborg feud, they would probably mention it onSmackDown Livepretty soon, so well get a better idea of whether this match can actually happen based on tonightsSmackDown Live.
